Welcome Students!
We are looking forward to class, it will be a great experience!

What to bring:
Desk top or lap top computer with surge protector and extension cord.

Software:  Photoshop CS3 or higher (we will be using CS5).  Nik Color Effects Pro 2.0 or higher (we will be using 3.0), Nik Silver EFX for Black and White, and Nik Viveza.  Lucis Art, Lucis Art Pro, or Topaz Adjust (any one of the three will work).  Painter 9.5 or higher (we will be using 11), you can also use Painter Essentials 4 ($99.00 program) if you don’t already own Painter.  Topaz Simplify.  A Wacom Tablet, if you currently use one.  If you don’t own all of the software we do have a discount code for Lucis, it is Gallery 143.  To obtain Topaz go to Timmons143.com and use our link.  We deal with MidWest Camera for Nik (1-614-261-1264) Stu has the best prices we’ve found.  For Painter go to www.corel.com/showspecial for a 20% discount.  If you don’t have all of the software look into downloading a trial version for the week of class (beware that you may not be able to save or print from all trial versions).  You will get much more out of the class if you have some of the software.  BUT by all means we do not expect you to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of software, bring what you have, get what you like.  Demonstration will be done on everything mentioned.

Camera, with all accessories, including tripod.  We will be photographing inside, outside and on location. 

Blank CD’s or jump drive to write and save files.

Art Image samples to share, and files to work on.  Any printed marketing pieces used to promote this type of work, please bring about 10.

Also feel free to bring your IPOD for inspiration, or anything that will help you to be creative.

An open mind!  The class will cover equipment, software, and vendors, easy daily workflow, art images, how to photograph, how to manipulate, how to market, art products, and print competition.  We will learn as much from you as you do from us, so bring any ideas that you may have to share.  We look forward to our week together.  We are on the road a lot, but if you have any further questions please email tina@mich1.net
